Ros is an Intermediate Senior (Level 3) teacher, who first studied with BKS Iyengar in India in 1977, after taking up yoga as a student in Oxford. She has been teaching Iyengar yoga since that time, and training and assessing teachers, and never grown tired of it.
This workshop is open to anyone with a sincere interest in the subject and an ability to stay awake, physically and mentally, for three hours, but is not suitable for beginners in Iyengar yoga. Our focus will be on the first three of the Eight Limbs (Ashtanga) of Yoga: yama, niyama and asana. Yama and niyama are the ethical and social guidelines that underlie our practice of the postures (asana).
While the workshop, as usual, will include plenty of asana practice, you will be invited to link how you do this to specific principles of yama and niyama. We will explore together what this means for our practice, and hence for our life.
The workshop will be held in our usual venue, the warm and fully equipped studio in East Finchley. Full payment is essential, in order to reserve your place; please do this by clicking on 'Buy tickets'. If you have any queries about the workshop, or about your booking, please contact Louise or Ros.
