This event is in the past.
This workshop focuses on pranayama, and is for students who have established a mature and regular practice of yoga asana (you should probably have been attending Iyengar yoga classes for at least two years).
John has over 20 years teaching experience, and specializes in pranayama (understanding and culturing the breath), which brings tremendous stillness to the mind. His style of teaching couples the precision characteristic of Iyengar yoga with a profound understanding of how mind and body interact during the practice.
John's knowledge of the texts from which yoga is drawn, and the Sanskrit language, root his teaching in an ancient philosophy that is still completely relevant to modern society. He has regularly updated his own practice over the years by attending workshops with BKS Iyengar, members of the Iyengar family and their senior teachers.
